Book Signing Event

Word on the Street – Toronto, Canada – September 21, 2014

I will be attending Word on the Street in Toronto at Queen’s Park for a book signing event on September 21, 2014.  I will be available at the Trafford Publishing kiosk, Number 127, from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. to answer questions and give away signed copies of my book, Cobbled Life.  Come meet me in person.  This should be a fun filled event and I am really looking forward to it.

My Word on the Street, Toronto, Experience

We checked into our hotel on Saturday, Sept. 20 which is located a few short blocks from Queen’s park where the event was taking place.  The Saturday was a beautiful warm day in Toronto and having lots of time, we strolled around Queen’s Park and ultimately located my assigned book signing booth.

We awoke early Sunday morning, Sept. 21,  only to find that Toronto was in the midst of a severe thunder shower and heavy rain. Oh, oh, ………………….. all the way to Toronto only to find the event rained out?  That was not to be.  By 10:30 a.m. the rain clouds left and were replaced by a beautiful warm blue sky.  By the time my 2:30 p.m. book signing slot arrived, Queen’s Park was humming with book lovers.  (The following day the local newspaper indicated that 210,000 people had come through the gates of Queen’s Park.)Flath_Cobbled Life4

Author Solutions, my sponsors, had the 75 copies of Cobbled Life on hand as well as a large sign which included a photo of my book cover, information sheets and book markers.  By 2:35  p.m.there was a long line of people awaiting a copy of Cobbled Life.  Included in my support group, were my brother and family as well as some friends from Toronto.Flath_Cobbled Life8Flath_Cobble Life13

Following the event, we rented a car, drove to Waterloo ( I was told by my niece, Suzanne, that they live in Waterloo, not Kitchener/Waterloo) and spent three days exploring Waterloo, St. Jacob’s Market, Stratford and Orangeville.

All in all, it was an interesting event and I thank Author Solutions and Trafford Publishing for enabling the experience for me and to my relatives and friends for such an enjoyable time.
